The Christian and Reparations Pt. 2 - Slavery By The Number$

A primary goal of reparations, proposed by Duke University’s William “Sandy” Darity (and prefaced in Thabiti Anyabwile’s - Reparations Are Biblical)  is ” payments for the wrongs done .” While there is universal agreement that “ reparations was owed at some point ,” it was not issued at or close to the time of emancipation. Which would have satisfied, more conclusively, the core principles of compensation, restitution and responsibility - restitution to slaves and slaveholders being held responsible. Without the ability to hold slaveholders financially accountable, securing reparations for slavery presently, would depend on, among other things, identifying descendants of slaves and determining as accurately as possible, the wealth accrued through slave labour.
