Four Years of Forever!

It's been four years since that lovely, gospel centred, grace filled day that I said "I do." Instantly "I" became we; "me", became us. And with the birth of our little ones - it was us, against them. Yes, it was a glorious day, read a bit about it here and here. And we were off! The two babies of our respected families; off to make our way in the world. I never imagined that we would be challenged right out the gates, but we were. God saw it fit to make visible, rather early, the uniqueness of sanctification in marriage. I found out rather quickly that I was not perfect; not that I didn't know this. Its just the daily reminder, was new and.....constant. Nonetheless, God saw us through good and bad times. Through selfishness, lack of communication, battles on how clothes should be folded; God got us through! Oh, not to mention, two toddlers; we covet your prayers for those two. I have to say that the grass is greener; the birds chirp louder; and the sun is blinding when two intentionally seek to make the gospel visible in marriage. I'm more in love with you Ronnie Elisabeth Ebanks than I've ever been. You are worth far more than rubies. Happy Anniversary!

Confession of Sins

 
I confess that I am a sinner who has offended a Holy and Righteous God, as a result of my sin I was separated from God and his perfect justified wrath was upon me.
 

Redemption in Christ

 
God being rich in mercy and love sent His Son. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, being without sin thus the perfect sacrifice, died on Calvary’s Cross to take the punishment for my sins. The Father has given me a faith in him, so I can now confess that Jesus is Lord and believe in my heart that the Father raised him up from the grave.
 

New life in Christ


I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. I have been given a new eternal life in Christ. Christ has become my righteousness. I am adopted into the kingdom of God. By the spirit of Christ I call out Abba, Father. The Holy Spirit has sealed me for the day of redemption. And it is in this new life...
 

Declaration

 
I promise to love you all the days of my life. I will treat you as if you were part of my own body. I will be quick to listen and slow to speak. I will exist with you in the covenant of marriage in a way that glorifies God, communicating the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  

Husband
 
Sharon I will care for you always. I will honor you and cherish you with a love that I possess only through Christ. I will esteem your counsel above all others. I will always try to be first to the cross, when it comes to sacrificing for you. Knowing that adultery is detestable to the Lord, I will keep our marriage bed pure. Should the Lord see fit to bless us with children, I will endeavor to raise them with you in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. In the example given by Christ the groom to the Church his bride I will attend to your needs helping you to become all that God wants you to be. I Love You!
 
Wife

Shane I will joyfully submit to your God ordained leadership in everything. I will love you and cherish you in all that you do. I will esteem your counsel above all others. My Book List for the New or Old Converts

While ingratiating myself with a new church here in Italy and in particular its young people - the Lord saw fit, in His kindness, to have me share in the joy of a few of its young people who crossed over from death to life (John 5:24). Even sweeter still, the most recent convert was won to Christ through the faithfulness of one of the members of the youth group who he attends school with, Soli Deo Gloria! I've noticed that books-to-read, has dominated my conversations with some of the youth - to make most of the fire God has started, while it is at its hottest. So I decided to compile a short list of books that I've found invaluable to my growth. This will not be an extensive list - readability and length will, for the most part, govern this list. I pray that this post is helpful for some to start, and for others to add, to their repository of brothers and sisters, past and present who fellowship, challenge and edify us through the pages. Homosexuality & Same Sex Marriage in The Cayman Islands

The topics of homosexuality and same sex marriage seem a far way off as live issues of discussion concerning the Cayman Islands . As the conversation rages on elsewhere, the level of importance these topics garner increases exponentially; however on our islands, with road expansions and closings; questions of integrity in the government; elections; deficits and immigration laws etc., at the forefront of the public’s thoughts, it seems there just isn’t enough ink to lend to, dare I say, a non-issue. It is this that has left me in a conundrum of emotions, for I want to launch a preemptive strike from a Judeo/Christian point of view concerning homosexuality and same sex marriage, but the temptation is to simply relax. As seemingly only smoke is visible in the distance, but not the fire.
