Why I Choose To Believe The Bible
It is a question that for most Christians signals the untimely demise to
what could have been a fruitful evangelistic conversation. (Allow me to project
my failures upon you) I know that I'm not the only one (especially as a new
born Christian) who spewed out prescriptive responses like e.g. "I believe
this because the bible said so; or I tried it and it works for me." Always
being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the
hope that is in you (1 Peter 3:15), is a necessary preparation for an inevitable
situation as a follower of Christ. If we owe the gospel to those who are
perishing, we need not have questions such as these though fair, yet (really stick men/red herrings)
barricade us from heralding the life-saving message of the gospel.
I am forever indebted to titans in the faith like C.S. Lewis, Ravi Zacharias, Francis Schaeffer, John Frame and others, for building me up, allowing me to execute my saviors final marching orders (go make disciples Matt.28:19) with confidence. I'm once again revisited by a sense of gratitude for this video by Voddie Baucham answering the most important question "Why I Choose To Believe The Bible."

"It is a reliable collection of
historical documents written by eye-witnesses during the lifetime of other
eye-witnesses; they report supernatural events that took place in fulfillment
of specific prophecies and claimed that their writings are divine rather than
human in origin" Voddie Baucham (2 Peter 1:15-21)
